Senior Night is a night to remember for the seniors of the Burnsville Swimming and Diving team. The iconic night is the seniors’ last home swim meet. “Senior Night is one of those events I’ve gotten to see in my four years on the team. It always felt like it was so far away, but actually getting to it felt kind of surreal,” said Josh Holtzleiter. Josh, one of four seniors on the team, holds the title as one of the team captains for his second year.’ “Very fun and energetic,” Michael Bork stated on being captain of the swim team.
Even though that was the seniors last meet at home they’re still not done yet. They still have their last meet of the year sections. With a roster of just 14 swimmers and divers combined, the boys weren’t able to pick up a win this year. According to head swim coach, Paul Tierney, “I am very proud of the boys this season. Even though we were not able to win any meets, the boys really improved on their times.” Paul picked up coaching after the 2015 season. He is a graduate from Burnsville High School and holds several records in the pool. Senior Night was a good night and will not be forgotten by the seniors. It is a night that seniors both wait for and dread since it is their last home meet of the season.
