Pet of the Week: Squooshy

Squooshy is a beautiful three year old shepherd mix that has some introverted tendencies. Since she is very slow to warm up to people and tends be very cautious around new people and things she will need someone that can help work with her on her fears. Squooshy warms up to women much faster than she does men. She is afraid of men and does her best around them if they ignore her. Once she warms up she is very loving!

Before coming to Secondhand Hounds Squooshy was found as a stray so her past is fairly unknown. She has many fears and would do her best with another animal in the house to help teach her how to overcome them and gain some confidence. The best type of household for Squooshy would be one that is fairly quiet and relaxed since she does get startled easily. She would do best with older kids or no kids in her future home.

After Squooshy had warmed up to her foster mom and her girlfriends all she wants to do is ‘be one of the girls’. She loves being outside to walk, hike, or just play fetch. She loves her dog friends and has lots of fun playing with them. She would very much prefer to have another dog in the home to help her continue learning.

Squooshy’s adoption fee is set at $350 and an application for her can be found on the bottom of her page. To find out more about her go to the Secondhand Hounds website and she is in the dogs for adoption under the adopt tab.
