The Darkest Hour

This weekend, I saw the movie The Darkest Hour, and I was a little disappointed at the lack of action in the movie. On the positive side the movie would have had a lot of suspense if It weren’t for my knowledge of history. The Darkest Hour was about Winston Churchill and how he was put into the highest position of power in Britain’s darkest hour. I myself can’t imagine the stress and pressure he must have had because the fate of his country was riding on his shoulders.

Winston Churchill was known for not backing down, being stubborn, and mumbling. This movie took place in the time period of world war two. To be more specific it started right before the fall of France in 1940 and ended after the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941. I would recommend this movie to anyone who doesn’t know much about the events of world war two before The United States Of America intervened. I am someone who loves action movies that are packed with suspense but this movie still kept me awake and interested because of the intensive background they give you. I would give this movie a 3 / 5 because of the lack of action but the 3 was all for the coolness of the unknown history presented and well portrayed in this film.
