#TheTourney18: Jake and Justin went to the first half of the tourney today. They liked it so much, they’re coming back tomorrow for the whole day!

Ah, the state hockey tournament. How many absences are there gonna be at Burnsville the next two days? Probably a lot. Why? Because if Burnsville makes it into the tourney, we’re gonna go watch. And if they don’t, we’re still gonna go watch.

People from all over the world come to St. Paul and pack the Xcel Energy Center to see these teen boys take on the ice, show off their lobster flows and make their school proud.

Burnsville Voice chief editor’s Jake Beeson and Justin Amaker came by to watch what is probably the largest high school game of any sort in the country. Mahtomedi went against Mankato East/Loyola and Orono went against Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato.

Mahtomedi clinched the dub against Mankato East/Loyola 4-2, with Joe Paraidse scoring twice, along with Charlie Bartholomew and Kory Pilarski. Orono destroyed Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato with a score of 6-1, with Lucas Jorgensen twice, Davey Burns, Daniel Eckerline, Jack Lubitz and Zack Simon.

Lots of people were present at the single A game, but way more people are going to be at the double A game tomorrow, including us again!

It’ll be lit.
